Support shines through as local business and farming community gets behind the Kenilworth Show

Businesses across Kenilworth are set to show their support for one of the region’s best-loved rural events as the Kenilworth Show prepares to return.

Shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and public buildings throughout the town and surrounding area will be asked to display advertising materials in a coordinated show of support for Warwickshire's largest one-day agricultural event, which takes place on Saturday, June 6.

Hundreds of posters and postcards have been produced to help encourage customers and visitors to support the annual show. Many local businesses and farms having already expressed an interest in displaying them.

Organised by Kenilworth and District Agricultural Society (KADAS), the charity-run event has been celebrating farming, food and rural life since 1947 and is back this year with a new programme of activities and some old favourites.

The Mayor of Kenilworth, Councillor James Kennedy, was a special guest at last year’s show, a highlight on the region’s rural calendar that usually attracts around 12,000 people.

Kenilworth Town Council is supporting the 2026 event too with a number of shared initiatives planned, including the provision of a free shuttle bus between the showground on Stoneleigh Road, east of the A46, and Kenilworth clock tower in a move to cut down on carbon emissions.

Cllr Kennedy said: "I am delighted that Kenilworth Council can support the Kenilworth Show. The show is such a great event for the whole family, with so much to do and learn and see what goes on in the countryside around us. By supporting a shuttle bus from the centre of town we can ensure that more people can attend the show without having to drive.”

The show provides invaluable support to local farming and local farmers at what is a testing and uncertain time for the sector amid unpopular policy changes, labour shortages, rising costs, market volatility and extreme weather.

Our Show Director Charlie Weetman said: “We’re delighted to announce the return of The Kenilworth Show and it is fantastic to have such strong support from Kenilworth Town Council and the local community.

“In the coming weeks we’ll be distributing postcards, flyers and leaflets to businesses across Kenilworth to help build excitement as the show draws closer.

“The Kenilworth Show has always been run by the community, for the community, and this year’s event will be no different. Visitors can expect the very best of local livestock in the Grand Parade, explore a wide range of trade stands showcasing local businesses and experience a fantastic day out celebrating everything that makes our rural area special.

“We’re always keen to support local food producers and are planning something new and very exciting for 2026 - so watch this space”.

Kenilworth Pet and Garden Supplies, in Abbey End, is one of the many local businesses that are displaying posters supporting the show.

Shop assistant Rowan Williams said: “I went with my family last year and had such a wonderful time. The kids enjoyed the sheep and the tractors so much they didn’t actually want to leave.

“There was a lot for all the family to enjoy and a really nice variation of stalls as well. We can’t wait to go again this year!”

The Main Ring will once again be packed with entertainment and the Village Green will feature   talented local musicians and performers following its huge success with visitors last year.

The show will feature more than 120 trade stands offering arts and crafts, jewellery, homeware, food and drink, alongside family entertainment for all ages.

In keeping with the event’s proud agricultural history, visitors can also expect livestock and equine competitions, sheep shearing demonstrations, modern and vintage machinery, classic cars, dog shows and attention-grabbing presentations from Warwickshire Young Farmers.

Families can bring along well-behaved dogs with a chance to enter them into the popular dog show!

Early bird tickets, available until March 31, are priced at:

·        £15 for adults

·        £13 for OAP concessions 

·        £7 for juniors aged 12 to 17

·        Under 12s go in for free
